I’m Sahra, a 3rd year Graphic Design Student at Willem De Kooning Academy
and I love collecting things and attaching emotional value to everything I find.
That love for everything bold, colourful and weird often shows in my work because bright colours and interesting shapes (in letters) are things that I love to experiment with and layer. I started with layering information and since then it has evolved into layering and overlapping design elements a bit more subtly. Not only do I just enjoy connecting different elements and information but it also brings me back to my childhood years of scrapbooking and glueing as much on a page as I could
(my motto has always been „more is more“).
I’ve always been excited about mixing digital and analogue ways of working, for example by using my handwriting as a typographic element. Therefore I’m very interested in expanding my toolbox when it comes to combining the two ways of working and having both components as part of a final design.
For me, every project is a new opportunity to experiment with new ways of working, new ways of layering and new „accidents“ that lead to something great (you can read about my latest “accident” here!).
I love working with lots of colours and funky shapes!!!
