In the book „The Forgotten Language“ I researched the language Plattdeutsch, which is an old, forgotten language from the North of Germany, which is where I’m from. I combined personal research and pictures from my great-grandma and great-aunt and combined it with facts, making this a personal journey of learning about a language but also learning more about my family and heritage. The name of the book was going to be „The Dying Language “ because in my world it was disappearing, however through my research, I learned that it was only disappearing to me because I wasn’t looking for it, therefore I called it
„The Forgotten Language“.
